Since 1996, the CHOC Follies has been one of CHOC Children’s most important fundraisers as it has raised over $10 million in critical funds to ensure children receive the very best medical care. Last March, just one week before showtime, the live Follies production had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, on March 13, 2021, the Follies will hold its first virtual broadcast. The show will include three numbers produced in remote and safe settings that excite and inspire the virtual attendees. It will also include retrospective compilation videos of the many aspects of the Follies over the years. From the wild and wonderful sets, to the crazy costumes and scripts, to the many wonderful CHOC initiatives for which we have raised funds, we will salute the amazing work of the hospital, the many generous contributions from community sponsors, and the dedication, time and fundraising efforts by the cast. We will also look forward to next year’s live show in 2022!
We hope that you will consider donating to our fundraising efforts this year, which concentrate on CHOC’s mental health program. One in every five children suffers from a mental health condition. That’s more than 150,000 children in Orange County alone. To combat these statistics, CHOC, in partnership with committed organizations and community groups, has created an outstanding mental health system of care for children, teens and young adults throughout Orange County. The flagship program of this initiative is our new Mental Health Inpatient Center, which opened in April 2018 and serves children ages three to 17.
Please join us in supporting CHOC with a donation of any amount you can provide. We understand the struggles that we all have endured over the past year. The CHOC Children’s Foundation has also struggled to continue their mission due to canceled events. Please help with what support you can provide and thank you for your help.
